The leading attacker in an epic Winnipeg Wesmen comeback is this week's Garbonzo's Wesmen Player of the Week.
Adrian Dyck of the Wesmen men's volleyball team earned the weekly honour after leading his team in kills in three straight matches, two of them wins, as the Wesmen eliminated the Brandon Bobcats in a Canada West quarter-final series and moved on in the conference post-season.
Dyck posted back-to-back double-doubles Saturday and Sunday as the Wesmen shook off a loss in the first match of the best-of-three in Brandon, and battled back from a two-set deficit in Match 2 before dominating Match 3 in earning a berth in the conference semifinal.
Dyck had a match-high 19 kills plus 11 digs on Saturday night as the Wesmen, facing elimination and down two sets, rallied to win in five.
The following day, Dyck posted 13 kills and 10 digs, and had tied for a team-high 14 points as the Wesmen won in four sets.
On Friday, a straight-sets Winnipeg loss, the third-year outside hitter from Springs Christian Academy, had 12 kills, seven digs and an ace.
For the weekend, Dyck hit .261.
The Wesmen now prepare for a best-of-three semifinal series against the Trinity Western Spartans that opens Thursday in Langley, B.C.
