Save the date: Wesmen golf fundraiser slated for June 28

Just because there's snow on the ground doesn't mean you can't start thinking about bentgrass.

The Winnipeg Wesmen have finalized the date for their ninth annual Wesmen Athletics Scholarship Golf Tournament, which will go Thursday, June 28 at Rossmere Golf and Country Club.

The annual tournament serves as a key tool to helping the U of W athletics department provide financial assistance to its student-athletes by way of the Wesmen Athletic Scholarship Fund. Wesmen Athletics pays the university approximately $150,000 each year to help cover tuition for Wesmen student-athletes and all of that is raised through fundraisers such as the golf tournament.

The tournament is a chance to interact with Wesmen athletes and win some great prizes while enjoying a day on the beautiful, sprawling 6,400-yard Rossmere course.

The Texas Scramble will tee off with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

You can register online here

A number of affordable options are available for individuals or groups. A single golfer can register for $199 plus GST and will receive 18 holes, a cart, buffet dinner, gifts and special contests that include a 50/50 draw, raffles and auctions. A group of four can register for $796 plus GST. You can also attend the dinner only for $50.

Once again we will be at the beautiful Rossmere Country club with a 10 a.m. tee-off and a 9 a.m. on-course registration and light breakfast.  We are still promising good weather, good fun (especially if you bring fun friends with you) and a day on the golf course raising money for a great cause and having the chance to acquire some great prizes.
