The University of Winnipeg is bringing back its annual soccer camp for women with added perks to entice players to get up and get out on the pitch.
The fifth annual 40 and Over Wesmen Women's Soccer Camp will run March 10 to April 7, 2019 and provide more opportunities for women of all skill levels to try The Beautiful Game.
And while the name of the camp suggests a certain demographic, this year the U of W is opening the camps up to players younger than 40 if they're just beginners to soccer.
Also new for 2019, childcare will be provided for campers as part of the registration fee, which is $100. Campers will get five 90-minute training sessions with Wesmen coaches and players each Sunday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. between March 10 and April 7. Sessions will be held inside the magnificent Axworthy Health and RecPlex indoor training facility that the Wesmen use as their primary training grounds.
The camp provides a fun and easy-going environment for women of all ranges of expertise and experience.
Registration can be done online or in person at the Duckworth Centre.
