The Winnipeg Wesmen earned their third straight sweep Wednesday in taking down the host UNB Reds in Fredericton.

Darian Picklyk had a match-high 10 digs and the Wesmen men's volleyball team put on arguably its most impressive showing of the non-conference season Wednesday in taking down the V-Reds 25-21, 25-15, 25-12 inside the Richard J. Currie Centre.

Daniel Thiessen again led the way in the offensive category for Winnipeg, notching nine kills and a match-high nine blocks, plus three aces against the team that represented the AUS at the 2017-18 national tournament.

The Wesmen, who swept Dalhousie in back-to-back matches in Halifax before coming to Fredericton, hit .247 for the match and got eight kills and two aces from Ethan Duncan.

One night after leading the way with seven blocks against Dal, middle blocker Garrett Jones put up another eight against UNB, one short of his career high.

Connor McConnell led the way for the Reds with nine kills.

The teams face up against each other again Thursday at 5 p.m. Winnipeg time.
