THUNDER BAY, Ont. — Faith Hezekiah and Anna Kernaghan both scored 13 points and the Winnipeg Wesmen cruised to another non-conference win Friday night.

Kernaghan and Hezekiah led the way as the Wesmen women's basketball team won for the sixth time in as many games to start the pre-season, routing the Algoma Thunderbirds 72-52 at Lakehead University.

The Wesmen have won games against every conference in Canada in their pre-season schedule and are now 2-0 against the OUA after taking down Algoma.

Robyn Boulanger added 10 points for the Wesmen, who improved to 6-0 ahead of a clash with the host Lakehead Thunderwolves Saturday night.

The Wesmen will close out the tournament playing the Memorial Seahawks on Sunday morning.

Winnipeg led 17-11 after the first quarter and 36-25 at the half. 

Jillian Duncan and Mikayla Funk both had nine points.
