Ashleigh Laube matched a career-high for kills, and Emma Parker set her career-high for digs Saturday as the Winnipeg Wesmen dropped their second conference match of the season in Regina.

Laube had 14 kills and Parker had 17 digs, but the Wesmen women's volleyball team was defeated 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-21) by the Regina Cougars in a Canada West conference match. The Wesmen fell to 0-2, while Regina improved to 2-2.

The Wesmen will return home for their conference home-opener Friday and Saturday against the UBC-Okanagan Heat.

Kalena Schulz added 12 kills and hit a team-high .345 for the Wesmen, who hit .137 for the match.

Middle blocker Jess Friesen had a team-high three block assists for Winnipeg, which also recorded 55 total digs to Regina's 51.

Ashlee Sandiford and Jessica Lerminiaux led the way for the Cougars with 11 kills apiece, with Sandiford added 10 digs.

Regina hit .229 for the match and rebounded from having dropped two matches to the Trinity Western Spartans last weekend to open the season.
