Box Score The University of Winnipeg Wesmen Men's Volleyball team picked up their second straight victory over the MacEwan University Griffins. Winnipeg recorded a 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-19)win Saturday night on the road in Edmonton, Alberta.
The Wesmen improve their 2015/16 Canada West regular season record to 9-5. The Griffins fall to 1-13.
Taylor How led the Wesmen with 14 kills on the night. Howe committed one attacking error and finished with a hitting percentage of .481. David Bommersbach finished with 10 kills. Brendan Thielmann added nine kills.
The Griffins were led by Shane Kerrison's seven kills. Max Vriend had six.
Winnipeg dominated the opening set, only making two attacking errors and taking advantage of 10 hitting errors by the Griffins. The Wesmen took the opening set by a score of 25-14.
The Wesmen did not let up in the second set leading 16-13 at the technical timeout before closing out the set 25-18.
Set number three was all Winnipeg. The Wesmen led 16-11 early on and continued to dominate on their way to a 25-19 match closing set win.
Winnipeg will be home next Friday and Saturday against the University of Regina Cougars.
