Box Score The University of Winnipeg Wesmen Men's Volleyball team picked up a key 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-14) victory over the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Friday night on the road in Kamloops, British Columbia.
SYNOPSIS
The WolfPack came out strong in the first set winning the first nine points and captured the first set. Winnipeg won the next three to raise their record to 10-9. TRU fell to 2-17.
Winnipeg's biggest offensive weapon was Casey Schouten (4th year, outside, East St. Paul, MB) who had 13 kills. Brendan Thielmann (5th year, outside, Winnipeg, MB) and David Bommersbach (4th year, outside, Winnipeg, MB) each had 12 kills.
TRU was led by Tim Edge (3rd year, outside hitter, Langley, BC) with nine kills.

"We expected a tough match from these guys. I wasn't surprised at all. They are excellent players. We expected a tough battle and the first set was difficult. We got easier points as the match went on.
On Schouton:
"Casey is a good player. He is a good technical player. He can bump, set, spike and do all the skills pretty well even though he is a big guy. That helps us. He made a three ball pass in the middle in one of the sets which was a critical point for us. He does some of those smaller things well."
