Faith Hezekiah got back on the double-double train, but the Winnipeg Wesmen weren't able to find a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

One night after being held to 13 points, Hezekiah bounced back with her second double-double of the season, scoring a career-high 33 points while adding 12 rebounds in a 90-75 women's basketball loss at the hands of the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves Saturday in Prince George, B.C.

Hezekiah's double-double was the 20th of her career and moved her into the top 10 in Canada West history in that category. 

Hezekiah, who last season became the first Wesmen player to average double-digit rebounds in 18 years, is now averaging 24.8 points, second in the Canada West, and 8.8 rebounds per contest.

But the Wesmen fell to 0-4 on the season as Maria Mongomo put a 31-and-13 line in sending UNBC to its fourth win in four outings.

Lena Wenke had 12 points for Winnipeg, while Jessica Dyck added 10.

"We made too many errors. A lack of concentration on defence led to too many free throws and the game managed to slip away from us" Hezekiah said.

Vasiliki Louka added 26 and 14 for the Timberwolves, who also got 12 points from Madison Landry.

The Wesmen took a 22-21 lead out of the first quarter, but trailed 46-40 at the half and 69-61 after three quarters.

The Wesmen will be back on the road next weekend in search of their first win when they meet the MacEwan Griffins in Edmonton.
