Box Score EDMONTON — Daniel Thiessen had 10 kills, but the Winnipeg Wesmen men's volleyball team wasn't able to slow down the Alberta Golden Bears in a straight-sets loss on Friday.
The Golden Bears hit .441 for the match and improved to 5-2 on the season with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-21) victory at the Saville Community Sports Centre.
Keegan Teetaert added five kills on seven swings with one error to hit a team-high .571 for the Wesmen (2-5), who also got five kills on 11 swings with no errors from Nigel Nielsen. Mikael Clegg had 22 assists and two aces.
Braedon Friesen led Alberta with 15 kills and George Hobern had seven kills on 10 swings.
The two teams meet again Saturday night.
