Box Score BRANDON — Don Dayrit had 23 points, but the Winnipeg Wesmen men's basketball team fell below .500 with a loss to the Brandon Bobcats Thursday night.
Dayrit hit five three-pointers, his second-highest total of the Canada West season, but the Wesmen only mustered 30 second-half points in an 80-70 loss to the Bobcats.
Dayrit scored 16 points at half for the Wesmen, who fell to 3-4 on the season with a return match-up against BU Saturday (8 p.m.) at the Duckworth Centre.
Brandon (1-5) got 18 points and 15 rebounds from Anthony Tsegakele.
After Dayrit hit a 3 with 7:21 to go, BU held Winnipeg without a point for three minutes in the third quarter, building up a six-point lead it would never relinquish.
Spas Nikolov had 10 points and five rebounds for the Bobcats.
Dominique Dennis added 15 points for Brandon, which also got 11 from Travis Hamberger off the bench and 10 from Jahmaal Gardner.
