CALGARY —
Sadie McMillan-Stowards was left open, and the fifth-year senior made the biggest shot of the game.
McMillan-Stowards hit a game-changing three and the Winnipeg Wesmen had a big fourth quarter en route to a 76-72 come-from-behind Canada West conference win Friday night over the Mount Royal Cougars.
The Wesmen trailed by as many as nine in the fourth quarter, but McMillan-Stowards hit a three from the right wing as the shot clock was winding down to cap a 17-9 fourth-quarter start that gave the Wesmen the lead.
Winnipeg improved to 2-0 after outscoring the Cougars 25-12 in the fourth.
After making her second three of the game, McMillan-Stowards then got her hand on a pass and forced a turnover that led to

After Jenika Martens hit a three to tie the game on the next possession, McMillan-Stowards was fouled and knocked down both free throws to give Winnipeg the lead for good.
