EDMONTON — The Winnipeg Wesmen will have their season on the line when they hit the court Friday night.
The Wesmen women's volleyball team fell to the No. 1-ranked Alberta Pandas Thursday, dropping Match 1 of the Canada West quarter-final series 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-18) at Saville Community Sports Centre.
Match 2 is Friday at 7 p.m. CT on Canada West TV.

Brooke Duncalfe both had six kills to lead the Wesmen, who were held to .154 attacking on the night.
"We are playing against a very good team with weapons at every position. They played the first contact better than us tonight, and they passed better than we did," Winnipeg head coach
Phil Hudson said. "When we are out of system against the size they have at the net, it's a challenge. We need to be better in every facet tomorrow."
Alberta took a 1-0 lead over the Wesmen in their quarter-final series thanks to 45 kills and a remarkable .445 attack percentage, holding Winnipeg to 25 kills.
After starting the conference season 0-3, the Pandas have won 18 straight matches and haven't lost since Nov. 1, 2024.
Sophomore Panda Abby Guezen led Alberta with a match-high 12 kills, with Laila Johnston adding 10 and Allie Moore scoring nine.
