A pair of Winnipeg Wesmen were singled out as the Canada West conference unveiled its all-star teams on Wednesday.
Third-year left side
Brooke Duncalfe earned her first all-conference honour being named second-team all-Canada West, while freshman
Anna Filippin-Buller was named to the conference's all-rookie team, the conference announced.Â
Duncalfe finished fifth in the conference in both kills per set at 3.56 and total kills with 256, leading the Wesmen in both categories.Â
She was second on the Wesmen in digs with 182 and recorded a team-high 23 aces.Â
Duncalfe, who was named the conference's women's volleyball player of the week on Tuesday, has been on a tremendous run over the past four weeks. She has recorded at least 15 kills in six straight matches and has three matches with at least 20 kills in that stretch.
This was Duncalfe's first all-conference honour, but she was named to the Canada West all-rookie team following the 2023-24 season.Â
Filippin-Buller served in a reserve role for her rookie season, but made significant impacts when she was brought in. She finished with 48 kills including a season-high 10 on .421 attacking against conference powerhouse Trinity Western in October.Â
She added 46 digs, six blocks and six aces.
The Wesmen open a best-of-three quarter-final against the Alberta Pandas Thursday in Edmonton.Â
