The Winnipeg Wesmen will open their Canada West basketball schedule with back-to-back games against their longest-standing rivals.
The Wesmen men's and women's teams will debut in 2026-27 with games against the Brandon Bobcats and Manitoba Bisons, the conference announced Friday as it unveiled its schedule for the upcoming season.
For the second straight season, the Wesmen will lift the lid on conference play against the Bobcats, this time on the road, Oct. 23 for a one-off weekend before returning to Winnipeg for their home-opener against the Bisons Oct. 30.
The Wesmen will once again play both the Bobcats and Bisons three times in conference play, with Brandon coming to the Duckworth Centre to close the regular season Feb. 12-13. The Wesmen and Bisons will play the annual Duckworth Challenge home-and-home Jan. 21 (at Duckworth Centre) and Jan. 23 (at U of M).
Winnipeg will host five home weekends in both the first and second semesters, and their lone bye week will be the Nov. 20-21 weekend.
The Wesmen will visit the province of Alberta three times: First, Nov. 27-28 at U of A and then back-to-back weekends to kick off 2027 at Lethbridge (Jan. 8-9) and Mount Royal (Jan. 15-16).
The teams close the season with five of their final six games on home floor.
