Wesmen Soccer facilities

The UWinnipeg Wesmen women's soccer team trains out of the 189,000-sq. ft. Axworthy Health & Recplex located directly next door to the Duckworth Centre on campus in downtown Winnipeg.

The facility allows our Wesmen to train 365 days a year on an indoor turf surface that spans three cross fields or the main 55-x-90m pitch.

In 2020, an exclusive workout area was added to the field level that allows Wesmen athletes to access high-level weight training just steps away from where their team training sessions take place.

The Recplex is also attached to the Duckworth Centre, which allows athletes to travel between both facilities via an indoor skywalk.

The team plays its Canada West conference home matches at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex on Waverley Street, about a 10-minute drive from the UWinnipeg campus. The Cantafio complex has hosted numerous elite soccer competitions, including the women's and men's soccer competitions at the 2017 Canada Summer Games, as well as served as a training facility for teams competing at the 2015 Women's World Cup that was held in Canada.
