The Winnipeg Wesmen found a simple solution for snapping an unsightly streak.
Play the Brandon Bobcats.
Selva Planincic put up a stat line for the ages and the Wesmen women's volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 (25-8, 25-10, 25-13) Canada West conference victory over the Bobcats Friday night, snapping a seven-match losing streak in the process.
Planincic was nearly flawless, registering 17 kills on 25 swings with zero errors. She also had 15 digs, two aces and four block assists.
Planincic's .680 attacking was a Canada West season-high for an outside hitter and marked the first time in conference history a player committed no attacking errors on more than 20 swings.Â
The Wesmen (2-7) hit .330 as a team, their most effective match attacking since they hit .371 in a three-set win over Thompson Rivers Nov. 7, 2015.Â
Jaya Dzikowicz had a career-high 11 kills and
Taylor Cangemi added a season-high 17 digs.
Brooke Duncalfe added 10 digs, the third time this season the freshman has registered double digits.
Ava Pearson's four kills led Brandon (0-7), which hit -.049 on the night. Six BU players had negative attacking percentages.Â
