The Winnipeg Wesmen were left lamenting lost opportunities Friday night.
The Wesmen women's volleyball team gave up critical runs in all three sets it lost, including in the decisive fifth, as the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack handed Winnipeg a 3-2 (26-24, 23-25, 22-25, 26-24, 15-13) Canada West conference defeat at the Duckworth Centre.Â
The Wesmen led 8-3 at the turn of the fifth and held a 9-5 advantage after that, but Brooklyn Olfert served the Wolfpack (3-8) through a crucial five-point run that proved decisive as the Wesmen (5-8) had their four-match win streak snapped.
The Wesmen, who also held a 2-1 sets lead, were up 24-22 in the first set before dropping three straight points, and they also led 17-13 in the fourth before TRU ran off four straight points to tie it.Â
Jaya Dzikowicz had a career-high 21 kills, hit .319 and added 12 digs for the Wesmen.
Brooke Duncalfe knocked down 14 kills with a career-high 22 digs, and
Selva Planincic added 11 kills.Â

Taylor Cangemi added 12 digs.
Winnipeg lost despite hitting .262, the third time in the past five matches they've hit better than .250 and their third-most effective attacking night of the season.Â
Olfert finished with 24 kills and three aces. Ema Palkovicova had 21 kills and 15 digs.Â
