A pair of quick second-half strikes helped the Regina Cougars beat the Winnipeg Wesmen in the penultimate match of the Canada West conference season.
Peyton Enns scored her fourth and fifth goals of the season a little more than a minute apart and the Cougars rallied to beat the Wesmen women's soccer team 3-1 Saturday at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex.
Enns broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 53rd minute and then added the insurance in the 54th as the Cougars improved to 5-7-1 on the season.Â
The Wesmen got a penalty kick goal from
Jazmyn Castro in the 39th minute that levelled the contest at 1-1. It was Castro's third goal of the season and the second time in her career she's scored three in a campaign.
Lennox Lockhurst scored her fifth of the season in the 29th minute to get Regina out to a 1-0 lead.
Camille Forbes made 11 saves for the Wesmen, while Cassidy Fedoruk made one for Regina.Â
