The Wesmen Golf Classic will celebrate its 15th year of supporting student-athletes in August.

The Wesmen Athletics department's yearly fundraiser for the Wesmen Scholarship Fund, the Classic will take place August 28 once again at the beautiful Rossmere Golf and Country Club. The event serves as a primary driver of the Wesmen Scholarship fund that aids nearly 100 student-athletes at the University of Winnipeg. 

The fundraising tournament is a key tool for helping the U of W athletics department provide financial assistance to its student-athletes by way of the Wesmen Athletic Scholarship Fund. Wesmen Athletics pays the university approximately $150,000 each year to help cover tuition for Wesmen student-athletes and all of that is raised through fundraisers such as the golf tournament.

Registration is now open to play in the tournament and attractive sponsorship opportunities are also available. A single golfer can register for $219 plus tax and will receive 18 holes, a cart, breakfast, food stations at holes, gifts and special contests that include a 50/50 draw, raffles, and auctions. A group of four can register for $876 plus tax.

The Texas Scramble will tee off with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and a 9 a.m. on-course registration.
