Wanda Czebreszuk's goal from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute opened the scoring as the Pandas handed the Wesmen a loss in their home-opener. Czebreszuk later added an assist on Makenna Van der Veen's goal in the 60th minute that made it 3-0.

Emily Duxbury scored in time added on in the first half and Alia Temple wrapped the scoring for Alberta (3-2-0) by finishing an Adrienne Poulin cross in the 62nd minute.
