The Winnipeg Wesmen were held to 20 first-half points and dropped a 76-44 result to the Calgary Dinos in Canada West conference women's basketball Saturday night.
The Wesmen dropped to 4-6 on the season with the loss.
Raia Guinto and
Jazmin Birch both had eight points to lead the Wesmen, who got five points, seven rebounds and four steals from
Anna Kernaghan.
The Dinos opened a19-9 lead after the first quarter and were up 46-20 at the half.
Myiam Kone led Calgary with 14 points and eight rebounds. Lilia Skumatova added 13 points and Mya Proctor scored 11.
The Dinos improved to 7-3 and sit in fourth place in the Prairie Division after winning for the fifth time in six games.
The Wesmen did manage 15 steals, they're second highest total of the season, and forced Calgary into 27 turnovers, which matched its third highest total this season.
The Wesmen are back home again next weekend for a pair of games against the Saskatchewan Huskies Friday (Indigenous Night) and Saturday (Shoot for the Cure).
