Grace Vallis's remarkable offensive outing has earned her the first Canada West women's volleyball player of the week honour for 2025-26.
Vallis, the third-year middle blocker out of Miles Macdonell Collegiate, led the Wesmen to a road split last weekend in Regina with one of the top performances by a middle in recent conference history.Â
Vallis registered a career-high 18 kills and hit .395 with five blocks in a five-set loss to Regina on Friday. Her 18 kills were the most by a middle blocker in conference play since Mount Royal's Nyadholi Thokbuom had 19 in a match in March 2022. Â
In a dominant sweep the following night, Vallis notched nine more kills and hit .438 with five digs, three aces and two blocks.Â
The Wesmen enter a bye week this weekend before hosting their home-opening doubleheader against Trinity Western Oct. 31-Nov. 1
