Chris Voth

Chris Voth was appointed head coach of the Wesmen men's volleyball program in June 2024, succeeding longtime coach Larry McKay after more than 30 years at the helm.

In his debut season, Voth led the team to a historic year, finishing first in the Canada West standings and capturing the program’s first-ever Canada West title. His efforts were recognized with both Canada West and U SPORTS Coach of the Year honours.

Before transitioning into coaching, Voth enjoyed a standout playing career. He spent five seasons with the Manitoba Bisons from 2008 to 2013, earning numerous conference and national accolades. He then launched a successful professional career in Europe, competing in the Netherlands, Finland, Czechia, and Switzerland. Over the course of a decade, he captured seven national championships as both a player and coach.

Voth has also made significant contributions to Volleyball Canada. He was part of the national team program as an athlete at the youth, junior, and senior levels, and later served as an assistant coach with the NextGen team. In 2023 and 2024, he helped guide the team to back-to-back NORCECA Pan Am Cup titles. Looking ahead, Voth will serve as head coach of Canada’s U21 team at the 2025 World Championships in China.
