Box Score DAVID LARKINS, Wesmen Athletics
A long layoff didn't slow the Winnipeg Wesmen down from their nation's-best scoring rate.

Keylyn Filewich, named the Duckworth Challenge Wesmen MVP, scored 28 points on 13-for-19 shooting and added a game-high 12 rebounds for the Wesmen, who improved to 9-0 on the conference season and won their 16th straight conference game against the Bisons dating back to 2014.
Since 2010-11, the Wesmen have won 22 of the last 23 games with the Bisons in conference play.
Kyanna Giles flirted with a triple-double scoring 26 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and handing out eight assists.
Faith Hezekiah added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Wesmen, who posted a season-high 66 rebounds on the night, their highest total since grabbing 66 in a 58-54 win at Brandon, Jan. 23, 2014.
The Wesmen broke out of the gates quickly, putting up a 14-2 run over the first 3:03. Winnipeg led 51-20 at the half and opened the third quarter on a 15-0 run to stretch the lead to 46. Winnipeg led by as many as 47 after two Deb Nkiasi free throws with 1:54 to go in the third quarter.
