The Cougars, the top rebounding team in Canada West at 47.4 per game, were held to 42 to Winnipeg's 45.
Leading 38-34 at the half, the Wesmen used a 22-13 third quarter to stretch their lead.
An 11-3 run to start the fourth stretched the lead to a game-high 21 at 71-50. The closest the Cougars got was eight the rest of the way.
