For the first time since 2021, the Winnipeg Wesmen volleyball teams will open their Canada West conference seasons on their home floor. 
 
The Wesmen will open conference play Oct. 19-20 with afternoon contests at the Duckworth Centre against the UBC Thunderbirds it was announced Thursday as the Canada West released the full volleyball schedule for 14 women's teams and 13 men's teams. 
 
The Wesmen men will play their first four matches at home, welcoming the Calgary Dinos to town Oct. 25-26, while the women's team will have an early bye. The men's team will get a bye Nov. 8-9 when the women's team hosts Regina. 
 
Both teams will also have byes in Week 6, Nov. 22-23, and Week 9, Jan. 17-18. 
 
The Wesmen teams make their first road trip of the season Nov. 1-2 when they head to Abbotsford, B.C., to meet the Fraser Valley Cascades. The Wesmen will make two trips across the mountains in 2024-25 as they will also travel to Kamloops, B.C., to face Thompson Rivers to start the second semester Jan. 10-11, 2025. 
 
The crosstown rivalry with the Manitoba Bisons will be played Jan. 30 at the Duckworth Centre and Feb. 1 at Manitoba. The other in-province rivals, the Brandon Bobcats, will host the Wesmen Feb. 7-8.  

All matches will be streamed live on Canada West TV and subscription packages for all sports in 2024-25 will be announced in the coming weeks.
