The Winnipeg Wesmen will open the 2026-27 Canada West volleyball seasons with back-to-back weekends against Alberta opponents, the conference announced Wednesday.
The Wesmen men's and women's teams will kick off the new campaign with a road trip to Edmonton to take on the MacEwan Griffins Oct. 23-24 before returning for their home-openers Oct. 31-Nov. 1, a pair of matinees against the Mount Royal Cougars inside the Duckworth Centre.
The teams will entertain three home weekends in both the first and second semesters, including back-to-back host weekends to close out the season against the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack (Feb. 5-6) and Fraser Valley Cascades (Feb. 19-20).Â
The annual Duckworth Challenge with the Manitoba Bisons is slated for Jan. 22-23, with the Wesmen hosting on the Saturday night.Â
The teams' split weekend comes Nov. 20-21 when the Wesmen women host the Regina Cougars and the men take on the UBC Thunderbirds at the Duckworth.Â
