Box Score LANGLEY, B.C. -- Daniel Thiessen hit .455 for the night, but the Winnipeg Wesmen weren't able to get much of an offence in a straight-sets loss to the Trinity Western Spartans Friday night.
Thiessen had six kills on 11 swings with only one error, but the Wesmen men's volleyball team fell to the pre-season No. 1-ranked team in the Canada West 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-17).
The Wesmen fell to 1-2 on the season, while the Spartans improved to 2-1.
The Wesmen hit -.196 as a team and committed 25 attack errors.
Brodie Hofer led the Spartans with nine kills and Jackson Howe, brother of former Wesmen Taylor Howe, had six kills on seven swings.
The teams meet again Saturday night.
