For doing something no Wesmen has done in more than 40 years, Julia Schatkowsky has been named the Birchwood Auto Group Wesmen female athlete of the week.

Schatkowsky, a fifth-year forward on the Wesmen women's basketball team, became just the second player in Wesmen program history to hit the 20-rebound mark in a single game, grabbing 20 in an 85-49 win over the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack Friday night. Schatkowsky's 20 rebounds are second in program history to Deb Steele, who had 29 in 1979.

Her total broke the Wesmen Canada West-era record of 19 set by Heather Thompson in 2003. She also recorded two blocks and six points.

Her Saturday effort wasn't shabby either, as she pulled down eight more boards with eight points.
