Making her name as one of the top rookies already in the Canada West has earned Brooke Duncalfe the Birchwood Auto Group Wesmen female athlete of the week honour.Â
Duncalfe, a first-year left side on the Wesmen women's volleyball team, notched her first career double-double and led the Wesmen in kills last weekend against one of the top teams in the country.
Duncalfe, a Sturgeon Heights Collegiate grad, recorded 15 kills and 12 digs, as well as four block assists on Friday as the Wesmen fell in four sets to the Trinity Western Spartans. The next night she led the Wesmen with 13 kills and picked up three digs and two block assists in a three-set loss.Â
For the weekend, Duncalfe hit .213 on 80 swings.
The Wesmen are home again this weekend to take on the UBC Thunderbirds.Â
