A season first for Selva Planincic has earned her the Manitoba Liquor and Lotters Wesmen female athlete of the week honour.

Planincic, a third-year left side on the Wesmen women's volleyball team, recorded her first weekend of back-to-back double-digit digs in the team's two matches at No. 6 Alberta last weekend.

In a three-set loss on Friday, Planincic recorded a match-high 13 digs as well as a team-high 10 kills. The next night, in a three-set loss, she added another match-high with 10 digs, to go along with eight kills.

The Wesmen return home for Friday and Saturday matches against the Brandon Bobcats. Tickets are available online now.
