Helping his team to a road split has earned Nigel Nielsen the MBLL Wesmen male athlete of the week. 

Nielsen, a fifth-year left side on the Wesmen men's volleyball team, filled the stat sheet on the weekend as the Wesmen won one of two against the Fraser Valley Cascades in Abbotsford, B.C.

In a five-set loss on Friday, Nielsen tallied a career-high 11 digs and added 12 kills and two aces to the cause.

The following night he was a catalyst in a four-set win, putting down 17 kills with just three errors on 32 swings for a .438 attacking, the third time in conference play this season he's been over .400. 

Nielsen also added eight more digs, two aces, three blocks and scored a match-high 21 points.
