It was a quick weekend of work for the Winnipeg Wesmen and Liam Kristjanson, who has been named the MBLL Wesmen male athlete of the week.
Kristjanson, a fourth-year outside with the Wesmen men's volleyball team, led the team on offence as the Wesmen swept the MacEwan Griffins in two matches at the Duckworth Centre.Â
On Friday night, Kristjanson posted match-highs of 13 kills, .571 attacking, nine digs, which is one off his career-high, and three aces.Â
On Saturday, he was efficient again equaling teammate Nigel Nielsen with a match-high 10 kills while making only one error on 17 swings to hit .471. He added two aces and recorded a match-high 13 points.Â
For the weekend, the Oak River, Man., native had 23 kills and made just three errors on 38 swings.Â
