Jazmin Birch was a key factor off the bench last weekend and has been named the MBLL Wesmen female athlete of the week. 

Birch, a second year forward with the Wesmen women's basketball team, was nearly flawless from the field as Winnipeg pulled off a quality road split at Mount Royal.

Birch finished the weekend averaging 14 points per game on 80 per cent shooting off the bench. 

In a big 76-72 Friday night win, Birch went 6-for-7 from the field and scored 13 points. The following night, she scored a season-high 15 points on 6-for-8 from the field while also making her lone three-point attempt and both free throws. 

The Wesmen host the MacEwan Griffins Friday and Saturday night at the Duckworth Centre.
