A near 30-piece has earned Raia Guinto the MBLL Wesmen female athlete of the week.
Guinto, a third-year tuard on the Wesmen women's basketball team, scored a career-high Friday night and helped the Wesmen sweep the MacEwan Griffins at the Duckworth Centre.
Guinto scored a career-high 29 points, bettering her previous career-high of 24 set last season, as the Wesmen eked out a 72-67 victory. She also added two blocks, two steals and four rebounds.
She was 7-for-11 on two-point field goals and made 12 of 13 from the free-throw line.Â
In a 66-57 win the following night, Guinto added 11 points.Â
The 4-1 Wesmen will take on the Alberta Pandas in Edmonton this Friday and Saturday.Â
