WESMEN 2 Regina 2 - Match Boxscore
The University of Winnipeg Wesmen completed their regular season schedule with a 2-2 tie against the University of Regina Cougars Sunday afternoon at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.
Both teams complete the 2015 season with identical 1-10-3 records.
Fifth year midfielder Danielle Bulloch, playing in her final match as a Wesmen scored a goal and added an assist. First year forward Hayley Wiebe was the other Winnipeg goal scorer.
Second year striker Olivia Bolen and fourth year midfielder Kayla McDonald added goals for the Cougars.
The hometown Wesmen came out of the gate as the more determined team and their perseverance paid off. In the 5th minute Danielle Bulloch opened the scoring after picking up a rebound from a Tyler Johnson shot to be beat Cougars goalkeeper Kacey McFee. Regina responded soon after in the 12th minute as Olivia Bolen picked up a loose ball in a wild goal mouth scramble and beat Wesmen goalkeeper Justina Jarmoszko to tie the score at 1-1.
In the second half, play settled down as both teams were in a constant battle for field position each looking for that important go ahead marker.
Winnipeg took a 2-1 lead in the 75th minute when Hayley Wiebe took a pin point pass from Bulloch and scored on a 25 foot break away, slipping a shot just out of the reach of McFee.
As the time was winding down and Winnipeg looking to secure the victory, the Cougars struck again. Kayla McDonald scored in the 88th minute to tie the contest at 2-2. Both teams gave it their all in the exgtra time but were unable to score the go ahead goal.
Winnipeg had the advantage in the shots department by a 12-10 margin. Jarmoszko and McFee each made seven saves.
Note: Senior players Danielle Bulloch, Emma Faulhammer, Allison Baergen and Claire Soubry played their final matches as a Wesmen.

WESMEN 1 Saskatchewan 1 - Match Boxscore
The University of Winnipeg Wesmen picked up a hard fought 1-1 draw against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in a Canada West Women's Soccer battle Saturday afternoon at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.
The Huskies record sits at 9-3-1. Winnipeg goes to 1-10-2 on the season. Saskatchewan entered the contest as the top team in the East Division of the Canada West Conference.
Fifth year midfielder Kelly Cerkwoniak scored the lone goal for the Huskies. Wesmen fifth year midfielder Danielle Bulloch replied for Winnipeg.
Both teams started the opening half very cautious with neither side getting any good quality scoring chances in the cool, windy conditions at the pitch.
Saskatchewan broke thru in the 33rd minute as Cerkwoniak took a perfect pass from striker Jenelle Zapski and chipped the ball past Wesmen goalkeeper Justina Jarmoszko to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
Winnipeg after not getting too many quality scoring chances in the contest capitalized on a great opportunity. Bulloch picked up a loose ball that went off a Huskies defender and made no mistake beating Saskatchewan goalkeeper Kyleigh Vause to tie the contest at 1-1 in the 54th minute.
Saskatchewan had 15 total shots in the match compared to only three for Winnipeg.
Jarmoszko made five saves for Winnipeg, Vause made two saves for the Huskies.
Winnipeg will play host to Regina tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Saskatchewan will play the Manitoba Bisons.
