Box Score SASKATOON — The Saskatchewan Huskies got a swath of early goals and handled the Winnipeg Wesmen 5-0 in a Canada West women's soccer match Saturday.
Naleya Kobussen scored twice and the Huskies had a 4-0 lead 27 minutes into the contest in improving their record to 5-1-1 atop the East Division standings.
The Wesmen dropped to 0-5-2 on the season.
Taryn Raabe made nine saves in the loss while seeing 14 shots on goal.
Kobussen got the scoring started in the 10th minute and added her third goal of the season in the 27th. Maya Gabruch, Payton Iszak and Georgina Gannitsos-Clark also scored for the Huskies.
Emma Friesen, Karrisa Schneider and Tia Lecox each registered a shot on goal for the Wesmen.
Freshman Sydney Butler, sidelined for the first seven games of the season due to injury, made her Wesmen debut and played 11 minutes in reserve.
