Box Score SASKATOON — The Saskatchewan Huskies are looking the part of the top team in the East.
Maya Gabruch scored two goals and the Huskies completed a weekend sweep of the Winnipeg Wesmen with a 6-0 victory in a Canada West women's soccer match on Saturday.
The win moved Saskatchewan's record to 6-1-1 atop the East Division, six points clear of second-place Regina.
The Wesmen fell to 0-6-2.
Taryn Raabe made eight saves for the Wesmen, her eighth complete match of the season.
Gabruch's two first-half goals bookended Hannah Zdunich-Costa's first goal of the season to stake Saskatchewan to a 3-0 first-half lead. Anna Oliver, Marie Kilcher and Naleya Kobussen scored in the second half.
Emma Friesen, Madisyn Furber, Karrisa Schneider, Enya Bukvic and Tia Lecox all registered shots for the Wesmen.
Winnipeg has a bye week before playing its next three games at home starting Oct. 16 against Regina.
