A record-breaking year for
Madison Priebe has been topped off with an all-star honour.
Priebe, the second-year keeper on the Wesmen women's soccer team, earned Winnipeg's second all-time Canada West all-star award Friday, being named second-team all-conference in a vote among coaches.
Priebe was the backbone of the Wesmen side in 2023, appearing in 12 out of 14 conference contests and breaking the Canada West record for saves in a season with 141. That bested the mark of 128 set by UNBC's Jordan Hall in 2013.
In breaking the record earlier this month against Saskatchewan, Priebe re-set the Wesmen record for saves in a game with a career-high 19.
She made double-digit saves in seven matches this season and set new career-highs for saves in a game three times.Â
Priebe is the first Wesmen conference all-star since Shae-Lynn Dodds in 2018.Â
