For setting a series of career-highs, Tana Layton has been named the Birchwood Auto Group Wesmen female athlete of the week.

Layton, a first-year guard on the Wesmen women's basketball team, scored a Canada West career-high 12 points off the bench in a loss to UBC on Saturday.

The day before, Layton had a career-high four steals and added her first career block. 

Layton is averaging 5.5 points and 2.5 rebounds this season.

The Wesmen are on the road taking on the Lethbridge Pronghorns in games that can be seen on Canada West TV
