Adding to her point total has earned Jazmyn Castro the Birchwood Auto Group female athlete of the week.

Castro, a second-year midfielder on the Wesmen women's soccer team, led the team with two points in two matches this past weekend.

Castro garnered an assist on Emma Friesen's goal Saturday afternoon when she led Friesen with a perfect through-ball that the third-year forward finished in the 63rd minute.

On Sunday, Castro scored the first goal of the match and her second of the season when she converted from the penalty spot with a decisive strike to the lower left corner past MacEwan keeper Bianca Castillo. 

Castro now leads the team in points with two goals and two assists.
