Posting a career-high and finishing the weekend making three-quarters of his shots has earned Mikhail Mikhailov the MBLL Wesmen male athlete of the week.
Mikhailov, a third-year forward on the men's basketball team, scored a career-high 30 points Friday night in a 93-63 win over the MacEwan Griffins. Mikhailov 13-for-18 from the field and also grabbed nine rebounds in the victory.
The following night, Mikhailov was smooth again, dropping 25 points on 11-for-14 shooting — including 1-for-1 from three — as the Wesmen earned an 87-63 win.
For the weekend, Mikhailov shot 75 per cent from the field, which is a career-high for him in a weekend series.Â
Mikhailov is averaging 14.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season and shooting 52.6 per cent from the field.Â
