An ace effort has earned Ben Traa the MBLL Wesmen male athlete of the week award.
Traa, a fourth-year setter on the Wesmen men's volleyball team, set a number of career-highs as the Wesmen earned a split from the Saskatchewan Huskies last weekend at the Duckworth Centre.Â
Traa, a St. Paul's High School graduate, had a career-high five aces on Friday as the Wesmen pulled away for a four-set victory. He also had 37 assists and a team-high nine digs, which matched his career-high set last season. The five aces are the second most in a match this season in the Canada West.Â
On Saturday, in a four-set loss, Traa set a career-high with 41 assists and added a solo block and three kills on five attempts with no errors.Â
