WINNIPEG – The University of Winnipeg opened their 2017-18 Canada West women's volleyball campaign with a 3-2 home victory over the visiting University of Regina Cougars this evening at the Duckworth Centre in Winnipeg.

The set scores were 3- 2: (25-22, 9-25, 20-25, 26-24, 16-14) in favour of the Wesmen.

 
The rematch takes place on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. Central Time.
