Taylor Boughton had a career-high attack rate Saturday, but the Winnipeg Wesmen dropped a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-21) on the road to the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack.

Boughton had five kills on eight swings with zero errors for a career-high .625 efficiency but it wasn't enough to keep the Wesmen from dropping their fourth straight match. Boughton also added two solo blocks and two block assists.

Emma Parker had eight kills and nine digs to lead the Wesmen (2-6), while Ashleigh Laube had eight kills and seven digs. 

The Wesmen hit .230 for the match, their second-highest output of the season, but couldn't slow TRU's Olga Savenchuk. The first-year product of Ukraine had 19 kills one night after putting down 23 in a three-set TRU win. Kendra Finch added 16 kills on 20 swings with zero errors for Thompson Rivers (3-5).

"We were more game ready. We were certainly competing at a higher level and were following more of our game plan," Wesmen head coach Diane Scott said. "We got more touches at the net and stayed more aggressive, which was positive. We still make too many unforced errors. That hurts us, we have to stay aggressive. Obviously, they are a very good team across the board, they dug up a ton of balls. They touch everything. That is impressive on their side. That is what we aspire to be."
