Box Score LANGLEY, B.C. — The Winnipeg Wesmen had an improved attack but it wasn't enough to get past one of the Canada West's powerhouses.
The Wesmen women's volleyball team got 12 kills from right side Emma Parker but dropped its fourth straight match Saturday, falling 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-12) to the Trinity Western Spartans in a Canada West conference match.
The Wesmen (0-4) hit .129 for the match — up from the .042 they hit a night before — but they weren't able to slow the TWU attack enough. The Spartans (4-0) hit .345 for the match and committed just nine attack errors on 87 swings.
Kalena Schulz added eight kills with six digs and hit .250 for the night for Winnipeg, which got a match-high 14 digs from libero Madison Fyvie.
Hilary Howe had 14 kills to lead the Spartans, who also got 10 more from Savannah Purdy.
The Wesmen head into a bye week before a crucial home-and-home series with the Brandon Bobcats at Brandon Nov. 7 and home Nov. 9.
