The Saskatchewan Huskies are the top team in the Canada West East Division and Saturday night they showed why. 

The Huskies hit .259 and registered 60 digs as a team and earned a 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-22) Canada West conference women's volleyball victory over the Winnipeg Wesmen at the Duckworth Centre. 

The win improved Saskatchewan to a division-best 5-1 on the season, while the Wesmen lost their fourth straight to fall to 2-4. 

Emily Koshinsky had 12 kills to lead the way for Saskatchewan, which opened the first set on a 7-2 run only to watch the Wesmen win seven of the next eight points to take a 9-8 lead. 

The Wesmen went ahead 15-13 before the Huskies won four straight points, but Winnipeg managed to equalize at 17 with a Saskatchewan serve error and an Emma Parker kill. From there, however, the Huskies won four of the next five points and the Wesmen weren't able to get within two the rest of the set. 

In Set 2, a five-point run at 6-5 gave the Huskies a significant advantage and Saskatchewan maintained at least a five-point lead the rest of the set. 

After trailing 20-14 in Set 3, the Wesmen managed to get to 24-22 down and force a Saskatchewan timeout, but Koshinsky ended things with a kill on the next rally. 

The Wesmen hit a season-low .119 for the match. 

Parker's 10 kills and 13 digs led the way, while Ashleigh Laube had 15 digs and Taylor Cangemi 10. 

The Wesmen committed 22 attack errors to Saskatchewan's 10. 

Winnipeg now breaks for the holidays before resuming Canada West play in January.
