CALGARY — The Winnipeg Wesmen women's volleyball team will take a non-conference split as a tune-up for the second half of the conference season.
The Wesmen knocked off the Saint Mary's Huskies in straight sets on Friday and the followed with a 3-1 (24-26, 23-25, 25-21, 21-25) loss to the Mount Royal Cougars the next night.
In the 25-18, 25-23, 25-19 win over the Huskies,
Brooke Duncalfe led the way with 14 kills and eight digs.
Selva Planincic added a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs, and libero
Taylor Cangemi had nine digs. Setter
Portia Switzer chipped in with 40 assists and eight digs.
Against the Cougars, Duncalfe put up another 14 kills with five digs.
Christine Kolbuck managed 10 kills and three aces, and Cangemi had a team-high 13 digs.
The team returns home to host the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack Friday and Saturday night at the Duckworth Centre.
