In leading his team to a quality road split, Isaiah Olfert has been named the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Wesmen male athlete of the week.Â
Olfert, a fourth-year left side with the Wesmen men's volleyball team, posted 18 kills in back-to-back matches and hit better than .400 as the Wesmen took one of two from the Saskatchewan Huskies in Saskatoon.Â
Friday night Olfert made just four errors and hit .412 while adding three aces and six digs. On Saturday, as the Wesmen posted a four-set win, Olfet was nearly flawless, committing just one error on 35 swings for a .486 attacking rate. He added three more aces and eight digs.
For the weekend, Olfert hit .449 and made only five errors on 69 swings.Â
